Top incentive travel destinations in the UK for 2023

Exotic incentive destinations might be off the list with the current uncertainty of travelling abroad, but a UK incentive trip doesn’t have to be a dull replacement. We’ve compiled our UK favourites, from the rugged landscapes of The New Forest to the vineyards of East Sussex. At Pure Communications Group, we are experts in incentive travel, so do drop us a line if we can help you plan your next trip.

The New Forest

You might almost feel like you’re abroad when travelling to The New Forest. Its mix of woodland and rugged fields hint of Spain, and with wild ponies grazing by the roadside, this area can’t fail to make an impact. The New Forest in Hampshire isn’t short of boutique hotels either, with The Pig and Limewood just two of many top stays in the area. If you’re looking to deliver an outdoorsy incentive where guests can lie by the pool and eat Mediterranean food, then opt for Burley Manor – a former royal manor within 8 acres of grounds. And if wellness is your aim, then Limewood is the perfect corporate retreat location for a spot of R&R.  The area is also packed with a variety of team building activities to do – from kayaking and canoeing, sailing on The Solent to learning survival techniques with a bushcraft experience.

The Lake District

If you’re looking for jaw-dropping scenery for your incentive trip, then the lakes are the place to go. This national park in Cumbria has outstanding beauty with its rugged mountains and large expanses of water. Head to Another Place sat on the shores of Ullswater, where guests can kayak from the jetty, take in the views or head off for some wild swimming. The Lake District is a foodie destination, so why not treat your guests to a meal at L’Enclume, the double Michelin star restaurant in the pretty village of Cartmel.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK and will always be a winner for your guests. From the sights of the castle through to Highland Games, there’s something for everyone. Stay at The Balmoral or The Waldorf for luxury, or why not exclusively book a small castle near the city. Edinburgh is the perfect incentive destination for golf lovers, with the prestigious Bruntsfield Links located only 3 miles from the city centre.

Cornwall

Cornwall has a bit of everything for everyone. For the active groups, treat them to surf lessons or mountain biking trails. If you’d like the group to relax truly, then The Scarlet Hotel is the perfect spot. Nestled among the rocks overlooking the beach, the hotel is the ideal spot for spa time with a foodie focus. The county has a range of workshops guests can enjoy, from breadmaking with the Cornish Sourdough Bakery or pottery with St.Ives Pottery.

East Sussex

One for the wine lovers. East Sussex is home to some of the top vineyards from Ridgeview to the Bluebell Vineyard Estate. Treat your group to a tasting of English sparkling wine, take a trip to the beach, or absorb some history at Bodiam Castle. Why not visit the picture-perfect towns of Rye and Lewes for a day trip, or enjoy a yoga session at Tilton House.

Margate

Margate is one of those fabulous hotchpotches of old and new. From the arcade games to the hottest new restaurants, it’s a pretty seaside down with discoveries on every corner. If you’re looking for a hotel that impresses you, then Sands Hotel has a great mix of prime seafront location, a rooftop bar and a smart restaurant for your guests to enjoy.
