Tracy has worked in the events industry since the year 2000, working on the end-to-end projects, managing complex incentives, conferences, gala dinners, award ceremonies and exclusive VIP experiences. She thrives on stakeholder engagement, building and maintaining relationships and really understanding each client’s need for their event experience, while focusing on strategy and growth for both clients and internal teams.
How long have you worked in events/ how did you end up in the industry?
My university degree was in International Tourism Management, which incorporated Strategic Management, Crisis Management and Event Management. This started me on the path of events in the year 2000, when I spent my 3rd year placement in Orlando, Florida as an Activities Director. That is where the spark was ignited! From there I have worked in many smaller agencies, larger agencies and a UK-based DMC. When MICE is in your blood, it never leaves!
If you had the opportunity to work an event anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Australia – I would love to arrange a large incentive in Sydney, lots of outdoor drinks receptions and dinners, an event at the Opera House and a few days scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef. Sundowners on a large yacht on the harbour and then another night glamping under the stars!
What’s your greatest accomplishment?
In 2012 I was responsible for planning the programme for one of the headline sponsors of the Olympics, looking after their Board of Directors and Spouses for their entire time in London. With Park Lane closed off, London almost empty for two months, I lived out of the Dorchester Hotel for a week. Arranged some amazing VIP exclusive experiences for the guests, stunning backdrops for lunches and dinners every day. Sat through a 7-course tasting lunch at Drapers Hall then a full afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason – needless to say, I was beyond stuffed! Then, at the end of the programme, the Board of Directors gave my team and I a ticket each to the Olympics 2012 Opening Ceremony!
A fun fact about you?
I love to swim and competed for my local swimming club from the age of 8 to 16 winning some ribbons. I love going to the gym and lifting weights, getting out in nature with my husband and three children. I like to keep active. Being around water and being in the sunshine makes me happy!
