Q&A With Maiya
How many events have you worked on since joining Pure?
I’ve worked on over 85 events since joining Pure, covering a real mix—conferences, incentives, summer parties, product launches. It has been an amazing variety!
Do you have a favourite project you’ve worked on so far?
Definitely our client’s Summer Party at Kensington Palace — getting creative with such an iconic venue was a highlight. I’m also really excited for a V&A event coming up this year. Other favourites include the Amsterdam Interactions conference and even some of the US proposals I’ve worked on for our tech clients, which really show the range and scale of events we produce.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I love the diversity of the events we work on, the community and support within our team, and the incredible venues and destinations we get to explore. Every event is different and keeps me challenged and excited.
Looking ahead, how would you like to grow within the events industry?
I’d love to expand my industry network even more and eventually lead events further afield — particularly in APAC and the US. I want to keep growing both creatively and operationally on a global scale.
What would you say are your top three achievements at Pure so far?
- Being project lead for European events for one of our biggest clients.
- Building long-term client relationships from being brand-new to becoming a trusted lead.
- Entering and growing within a supportive and kind industry network, and earning a promotion within my first year.
What’s been your biggest challenge — and how did you overcome it?
One big challenge has definitely been managing time and workload, especially when working on multiple proposals under tight deadlines. I’m really proud that I can now execute fully developed, creative and technical pitches even under pressure, often exceeding client expectations and pushing Pure’s creative standards even further.
You’ve achieved a lot already in a short time! What advice would you give to someone starting out in the events industry?
Be open to learning from every experience, say yes to opportunities even if they feel daunting, and build genuine connections — both within your team and the wider industry. And don’t underestimate the power of creativity and positivity under pressure!
